The Centre is planning to hold an agriculture fair in Nagpur during winters to showcase new technologies and innovations in crop, seeds, water conservation and others to create awareness among the farmers.

“The agriculture expo will be biggest and for a duration of 10 to 15 days. Nagpur being a centrally located place would be ideal to host it,” Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar told reporters here on Sunday.

A final decision regarding the expo would be taken in Delhi soon after holding consultation with the state government, and the Nagpur-based the Agriculture University and Animal Husbandry and Fisheries University, he said.

The national agriculture expo may be organised in future by rotation, like the South next time, after central zone this year, he added.
