Kaveri Seeds, one of the top 5 seed producers in the country, has opened a corn cob drying facility at Molangur in Karimnagar district of Telangana.
The firm invested ₹20 crore on buildingthe facility at its 15-acre integrated seed conditioning and packing facility.
Claimed to be the Asia’s largest cob dryer unit, the fully automated plant has a double pass dryer corn cob drying unit that can process 400 tonnes of fresh corn cobs per day.
“The facility will help in increasing germination and vigour of seeds. It will also improve shelf life of seeds helping the firm manage the inventory better,” said GV Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of Kaveri Seeds.
