Small cardamom prices slipped on increased availability at auctions held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. At today’s auction held in Bodinayakannur by Cardamom Planters Association (CPA), the average price dropped from that of the previous week.
A total of 29 tonnes arrived today and almost the entire quantity was traded. The maximum price was at ₹966 a kg. The auction average dropped to ₹855.73 from ₹885.10 a kg the previous sale.
The auction average for the week dropped to ₹902.31 a kg from ₹904.79 the previous week. Prices in ₹/kg : 8mm green bold ₹1,150-1,200; 7-8 mm : 950-1,000 ; 6-7 mm 850-900. Good bulk was being traded at ₹900/kg.
