Physical rubber prices finished unchanged on Tuesday. The market lost its direction following the late declines on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE). Sheet rubber closed steady at Rs 214 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi .
The October series weakened to Rs 215.45 (216.47), November to Rs 211.95 (213.40), December to Rs 213.20 (214.31), January to Rs 215.12 (215.87) and February to Rs 217.56 (218.12) a kg for RSS 4 while its March series firmed up to Rs 221.77 (218.60) a kg on the NMCE.
RSS 3 (spot) improved to Rs 207.82 (206.16) a kg at Bangkok. The October futures increased to ¥312 (Rs 197.50) from ¥308.2 a kg during the day session but then surrendered to ¥306 (Rs 196.96) a kg in the night session on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.
Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 214 (214); RSS-5: 211 (211); ungraded: 205 (205); ISNR 20: 204 (204) and latex 60 per cent: 130 (130).
