The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday, in a reply to the Assembly, said that it had to pay Rs 3,232.34 crore dues to cane farmers.
The figure included over Rs 550 crore in government sugar mills and rest in private mills.
“This amount will be paid to farmers as per the Supreme Court order of April 20 in three installments by June 7 next”, the reply said.
