Indian Cotton Federation (formerly The South India Cotton Association) plans to organise a conference at Hotel Aloft in Coimbatore on September 1.
The theme of the conference is ‘Challenges Facing Cotton Trade and Industry 2013’. It has been timed just ahead of the next cotton season.
The unprecedented turbulence in the industry in the past few years and the catastrophic effect that it has caused on the industry and trade has compelled the cotton body to convene such a meeting, according to ICF sources.
The meeting aims to bring all stakeholders in the cotton sector so that they can deliberate and discuss various issues for improving the business environment.
The federation sources said that government policies, default in contracts, quality issues and several other reasons resulted in price volatility in recent years.
The federation is inviting participants to register for the forthcoming event.
