Air India officials said on Wednesday that the deal between DB Realty and Hotel Corporation of India for management of the Centaur Hotel, Srinagar stands scrapped and the hotel continues to be run by the Centaur Hotel staff.
This was after reports claimed that the deal has not yet been scrapped and it is still on despite concerns raised by Jammu & Kashmir government.
“The deal has been scrapped. The Jammu and Kashmir Government is to take over the functioning of the hotel soon,” an Air India official told Business Line.
The deal which was signed under the tenure of the former Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel was scrapped in April 2011 by the current Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Vayalar Ravi.
DB Realty is run by Mr Shahid Balwa, who has been named by the CBI as an accused in the first chargesheet in the 2G case filed by the investigating agency.
