The International Management Institute (IMI) is spreading its wings across the country.
Having inaugurated its Kolkata campus, second to Delhi, on Tuesday, IMI is now set to open third campus at Bhubaneshwar in Orissa, next week.
Plans are also afoot to set up campuses in the South.
The Rs 100-crore Kolkata campus — spread over nearly 2 lakh square feet — will have a 240-room hostel facility and has a batch-strength of 120 students.
Sessions, for the two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Management, will begin from Wednesday.
Inaugurating the Kolkata campus, Mr Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RP – Sanjiv Goenka Group, said that delay in starting the session may limit student flow in the first batch. The group is financing the expansion plan through internal accruals.
Elaborating on the courses to be offered by IMI-Kolkata, Mr Goenka said that apart from marketing, finance and human resource, the institute would offer courses in retail, organisational behaviour, economics & public policy, strategy & operations and technology management.
IMI has entered into an agreement with the Oxford Institute of Retail Management (OXIRM) to facilitate joint research in retail and other areas.
According to Mr Goenka, the Bhubaneshwar campus to be set up at Rs 28 crore will have facilities similar to Kolkata.
