The city-based Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) has earned profit after tax of ₹7.12 crore during 2016-17 as against ₹43.50 crore during the previous year, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.
The AGM of the DCI was held in New Delhi on Thursday, presided over by Chairman and Managing Director Rajesh Tripathi.
Financials: The PAT during the year was ₹712.27 lakh as against ₹4350.18 lakh during the previous year. The operational income was ₹58587.17 lakh as against ₹66585.89 lakh, the other income being ₹1381.78 lakh as against ₹1532.21 lakh. The total income was ₹59968.95 lakh as against ₹68118.10 lakh, the release said.
During the year, an inland cutter suction dredger – DCI Ganga – was inducted into the fleet and deployed at Puducherry.
The DCI undertook maintenance dredging works at Kolkata/Haldia, Cochin port, Cochin Shipyard, the Visakhapatnam port and other ports. Capital dredging works were taken up at Mormugao, Chennai, Puducherry, the Andamans, and Dahej port. The DCI also bagged a five-year contract for dredging at Kolkata/Haldia from Jan 1,2017.
The DCI spent ₹1.78 crore on CSR activities during the year.
