Five empty coaches of Coimbatore-bound Shatabdi Express derailed here today.
According to Southern Railway officials, the incident happened early this morning when the train was being moved from the yard to the platform when the five coaches derailed at Basin Bridge, but there were no casualties.
The train, which was scheduled to leave at 7.15 am, later proceeded to Coimbatore at around 10.30 am after a delay of over three hours, they added.
The incident comes close on the heels of the derailment of Bengaluru-Chennai Mail here last week.
Two coaches of the train had derailed at Basin Bridge while entering the Central Railway Station.
