Jet Airways inducted the 100th aircraft into its fleet — a swank new Boeing 737-800. This will be the third all-new Boeing 737-800 configured with eight Premiere and 162 economy seats, and will commence commercial operations from December 5.

The aircraft incorporates better space management, pivot bins with higher overhead storage capacity, enhanced sound quality and clarity, curved cabin architecture with special LED lighting portraying different colour schemes, among others.

“The delivery of our 100th aircraft is a major milestone for everyone at Jet Airways. We have always chosen to utilise the very best in next generation avionics to ensure superior quality, reliable service and above all, customer satisfaction,” remarked the airline's CEO Nikos Kardassis.

Meanwhile, Belgium has conferred the ‘Commandeur of the Order of Leopold II,' one of its highest civilian distinctions, on Jet Airways Chairman, Mr Naresh Goyal for “meritorious service and efforts to foster business and cultural ties” with that country. Belgian Ambassador, Mr Pierre Vaesen presented the medallion to Mr Goyal in the presence of visiting Belgian Minister and President of Flanders, Mr Kris Peeters.

Named in honour of King Leopold II of Belgium, the order, conferred on the Jet chief by The King of the Belgians, is awarded for meritorious service to the Sovereign of Belgium and as a token of his personal goodwill. The premier private carrier operates its international hub in the Belgian capital of Brussels, from where passengers travelling between North America-Europe and India are connected by it.
