Air traffic has been disrupted for about two hours at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here on Saturday morning. A runway inspection team found some damage and informed the same to Air Traffic Control (ATC).
The airport authorities have immediately stopped flights and began repair works. “As a result, we have diverted seven incoming flights to Chennai and Bangalore. They, however, have started back to Hyderabad. Four outbound flights were also delayed as a result of repair works,” an airport official told Business Line.
Airport, however, resumed operations after 12 noon, he said.
