The Chennai-based budget carrier SpiceJet will add three new international destinations including Macau to its network as part of the airline’s overseas expansion plans, sources said.

SpiceJet, which launched its international services in October 2010, currently operates across eight overseas airports, besides 47 domestic destinations.

“We are all set to expand our overseas operations. As a part of this, we plan to launch flight services to Bangkok, Muscat and Macau,” airline sources told PTI here.

All the three proposed flights are expected to be added to the airline’s network within the summer schedule, sources said, adding “we are quite steady on our international operations expansion.”

Airlines’ summer schedule in the country typically begins from late March and lasts till October.

At present, SpiceJet flies to Kathmandu, Colombo, Malay, Kabul, Dubai, Sharjah, Riyadh and Gongzou.

The no-frills carrier which carried 9.76 lakh passengers in June has a 19.5 per cent market share.
