United States aircraft manufacturing giant Boeing is likely to partner with an Indian enterprise to set up an Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul and Training (MRO) facility that was need of the hour in the aviation industry, which holds a big promise for creating jobs for students in the country.

Aviation sector has openings both in flying and non-flying categories for students with technical background and those from management studies in various government and private establishments, the Airports Authority of India, Vijayawada, Airport Director, Mr C. Pattabhi, said while delivering The Hindu Business Line Club Talk at the PVP Siddhartha Institute of Technology.

Asked by students from Avionics and Management Studies if those from Avionics could be given priority in jobs related to the industry, Mr Pattabhi clarified that those from electronics and communication background were preferred in some areas such as air traffic control and aircraft maintenance.
