The CBI, through its Interpol Wing, has sent a request to authorities in Mauritius seeking documents and information relating to 12 companies alleged to have links to the 2G spectrum scam.

The companies named by the CBI in the letter rogatory include Etisalat Mauritius, Delphi Investments, Mavi Investment Fund, Black Lion and Inditel Holding. It has sought documents pertaining to the registration of these companies, shareholding pattern, balance sheets, details of bank accounts of the companies, details of investments made by these companies in India.

CBI has also sought permission to question Directors of these companies and officials of the banks and registrar of companies. It has further requested that CBI officers may be authorised to be present in Mauritius during the investigation.

All these companies are alleged to have equity stake in either Swan Telecom (now Etisalat DB) or Loop Telecom. CBI has stated that allegations have been made that some Government officials may have equity stakes in the two Mauritius-based companies.
