Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, on Thursday met Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee at Writers’ Buildings.
The minister is on a two-day trip to visit the various border outposts in the State.
According to Singh, an appeal has been made to the Chief Minister to exempt all central police canteens from the purview of value added tax (VAT).The State Government, he said, has been charging VAT on all such canteens.
