Train services along the Eastern coastal regions of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh were disrupted this morning following a 12-hour strike called by BJP-led NDA to protest the hike in petrol prices.
According to a South Eastern Railway spokesperson, agitations at different areas of Odisha that include Soro, Rupsa, Jaleswar, Balasore and Basta stations affected train services in the wee hours.
Trains coming to and from Kharagpur, Adra (West Bengal) and Chakradharpur (Jharkhand) divisions were the worst-hit.
Express trains like Puri-Howah Sri Jagannath Express, New Delhi-Puri Express, Guwahati-Thiruvananthapuram Express were running late or have been stopped at some stations because of disruptions.
