The Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure (CCI) today approved the proposal for the development of the two laning with paved shoulders of ‘Raibarelly – Jaunpur’ section on NH - 231 in Uttar Pradesh.
The estimated cost is Rs. 647.98 crore out of which Rs. 78.62 crore is for land acquisition, rehabilitation and preconstruction and Rs. 569.36 crore is for construction.
The length of the project is 166.40 km and the concession period is 17 years including the construction period of 24 months. The project will be implemented on a build-operate-transfer (BOT)-annuity mode.
The project covers the districts of Rae Bareilly, Pratapgarh and Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh.
The main objective of this project is to develop the infrastructure of Uttar Pradesh and reduce the time and cost of travel for the traffic plying between Raibareilly – Jaunpur.
This project comes under NHDP Phase IV, a proposal for upgradation of 20,000 km of national highways, which was approved by the CCI in February 2012.
