The Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has admitted that current defence acquisitions are complex and has assured companies in the defence sector that Defence Procurement Procedure can be friendly and intends to create an easy redressal mechanism.
Addressing delegates at an interactive session organised by CII, Parrikar said that this redressal system will be set up in the next few months.
On the issue of DPP, he said that there should be a defined timeframe which has to be followed, something which is not being done. He also said that as a part of the offset clause there is a need to have flexibility in selecting a partner, due to changes in technology as well as pricing.
