A day after the Prime Minister, Mr Manmohan Singh, concluded his three-day trip, Myanmar today announced its decision to grant visa-on-arrival to Indian business persons and certain other categories of visitors.
According to the surprise move that is aimed at boosting trade relations, Indian business persons will get visa for 70 days on arrival and a fee of $50 will be charged, sources told PTI here.
Another category, for which visa will be given on arrival to Indian nationals, is ‘Entry visa' and the criteria will be meetings, events etc., the sources said.
Under this criteria, visa will be given for 28 days for a fee of $40, they said. Indians can also avail 24-hour visa-on-arrival for transit. Myanmar already has visa-on-arrival scheme for tourists.
