The new UK visa application centre has been opened in Bangalore at Central Street.
The British Deputy High Commissioner to Karnataka, Mr Ian Felton, said that 2012 was a great year to travel to the UK with the Diamond Jubilee and London Olympics.
The new visa application centre would have a premium lounge with dedicated staff and additional facilities.
The new Internet facilities at the centre will allow customers to complete and print their online visa application forms. These facilities have been introduced in Bangalore and will be rolled out to other centres soon.
The new centre would be operational from May 28.
The normal hours for submission of applications and collection of documents are being extended by two hours for customers in Bangalore, and the working hours of the centre are from 8 am to 4 pm, a press release said.
