The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has been asked to gear up for early settlement of claims, especially for flood-hit victims and their relatives.

“Instructions have been issued not only to the regional office in Dehradun but also to all field offices of EPFO across the country “to fast track settlement of claims of PF, pension and Employee’s Deposit Linked Insurance submitted by the families of affected persons,” Labour Minister Sis Ram Ola said here on Wednesday.

The Minister, who flagged off relief material for Uttarakhand, also said that online transfer facility for PF would be launched soon.

The relief material, donated by EPFO staff, comprised rice, flour, pulses, refined oil, sugar, potatoes, clothes, shoes.

Ola said the Labour Ministry had already sent a proposal to enhance the wage ceiling for EPF purpose for the workers/employees engaging in different organised and unorganised sector entities.
