Kochi-based Technopark incubated company SectorQube Technolabs Pvt Ltd has developed MAID (Microwave Android Integrated Device).
The device is said to help in cooking easy as well as exotic recipes in microwave ovens and is touted as the latest generation of microwave ovens that “literally knows to cook every dish.”
Connected to the Internet, one can select the dish of choice from the Web site and download the recipe and ingredient list using MAID. It instructs and informs when the food is cooked, it is claimed.
SectorQube Technolabs was started by seven friends with the aim of creating more intelligent electronic devices.
Mr Sabarish Prakash, CEO, said the main features of MAID are that it can auto-cook virtually unlimited number of dishes, it makes microwave operations simpler with user-friendly interface, there is an ever-growing recipe database which is directly connected to the oven and also provides a facility for users to upload their own recipes.
Households that have microwaves at home can upgrade their devices by installing the MAID console in their microwaves. The product is expected to be launched by the end of this year. It will cost approximately Rs 6,000 to 7,000, he said.
