Addressing a press conference here after inaugurating the facility, Mr Gurnani said the centre would conduct research and development in aerospace, Defence and urban innovation, including civil security.

“The primary areas of development will include software engineering, electronic engineering and mechanical engineering. It would later focus on development in the areas of signal processing and systems engineering,” Mr Hakan Buskhe, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saab, said.

Mr Hakan said the centre would have 300 engineers by next year.
