HERE, the maps and location services business of Nokia, has launched a community mapping pilot programme in India through which it intends to source maps data.
With a team of more than 1,000 people in India, HERE will work directly with about 50 universities and colleges in India, including Mount Carmel College in Bangalore and SAL Institute of Technology in Ahmedabad.
HERE is offering its Map Creator, a tool that allows people to missing streets, bridges, points of interests and other information to the map.
