Apps to book bus tickets, apps for hotel and restaurant reservations… there seems to be no end to the number of apps on offer. And here’s an app that will help users book call taxis from whichever service provider has one available … with just one click.
Callzila, a technology enabler in the smartphone customer service space, on Friday launched a free mobile app to enable users book taxis or autorickshaws.
Magesh Kumar, Managing Director of CallZila, pointed out that it was very difficult to get taxis during rush hour, and the new app will fill the gap. The unique feature of CallZila is the availability of multiple taxi service providers in one window to ensure users get a cab when they need one, and without any difficulty. The company has so far signed up with 20 taxi operators in the city, who collectively operate a fleet of 1,600 cabs. It has also signed up autorickshaw operators such as Auto Raja and Namma Auto. “We are keen on expanding the net further to include other taxi operators such as Fast Track, Ola and NTL. We are in talks with them and hope to strike a deal soon,” Kumar said.
Explaining how the app works, he said the moment the user mentions the origin and destination, a message will go out to call centres of the various operators, and the one who’s quickest off the block will connect with the user, saving users the trouble of calling up various operators to find out who can despatch a cab. The operator will pay a commission to CallZila for the reference.
