SAP has announced that Bhavnagar Energy Company Ltd (BECL) has selected SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) running on the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE).
In an official statement, the company said BECL, one of Gujarat’s state power generation companies, was facing inefficiencies because of manual processes.
The statement, quoting Mr Nayab Hussain Pathan IT Head BECL said, “SAP ERP on Sybase ASE will help BECL improve response time, manage data flow effectively and enable better decision-making.”
Commenting on the implementation, Mr Mathew Thomas Vice-President – Strategic Industries SAP India said, “Public sector companies in India are realising the benefits of process optimisation across departments and the need for better database management to improve operational efficiency and reduce overall costs.”
