Dell, the IT major, has evinced interest in setting up a data centre at Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh, and this was stated during the ongoing visit of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to the USA, according to a press release.
The Chief Minister met Srikanth Satya of Dell, directors and other top officials during his visit and invited them to set up centre in the State. The response to the suggestion was positive, but the modalities would have to be worked out after the proposed visit of the Dell team to the State.
He also met the directors and top officials of Bell Helicopters and also offered them land and other facilities to set up a manufacturing unit in the State.
A total of 28 small US-based IT companies agreed to start operations at Amaravati and Visakhapatnam, adds the release. The representatives of the companies met the CM.
