Facing problems with new video chat option the social networking site? You may well have to check your Internet bandwidth to see whether it is good enough to support the option. Facebook, on its part, says it is listening to the complaints of users in this regard and promised to fine-tune it.
“Mostly, it depends on broadband on the user side. We do not have any control on this. But we are collecting information and working on feedback to improve the chat facility,” Mr Manoj Varghese, Director (User Operations) of Facebook, said.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of HR Conclave organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he said the company was beginning to get revenues from the ad window. Brands needed to engage with its fans by initiating dialogue. Facebook provides exposure to people who engaged with friends one-on-one. Brands could utilise this window.
He said the user base of social network went up to 2.5 crore in India from 1.6 crore a year ago. The company had not acquired any new space in Hyderabad, when referred to a Government statement that it added more space to recruit more people in Hyderabad. Asked about competition it faced from Google Plus, he said competition always helped users and it was welcome.
