Free Software Movement of India has welcomed the Supreme Court’s judgment , striking down the Section 66A of the Information Technology Act.
“We congratulate all the activists, democratic minded citizens, media, policy makers, advocacy groups, communities and organisations who have come together and fought against this undemocratic act,” the association said here in a statement on Tuesday.
The Bench comprising judges J Chelameswar and R F Nariman said the section violated the Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression guaranteed by the Constitution.
