Search engine major Google on Tuesday celebrated the 161st birth anniversary of Spanish architect, Antonio Gaudi with a doodle.
Inspired by oriental arts, Gaudi’s architectural style can be seen across Barcelona. Born in Reus, the architect is remembered for his unique designs.
Sagrada Familiaa, a large Roman Catholic Church in Barcelana, is considered as a masterpiece of his work and has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Other famous designs by Gaudi, include a cemetery gate (1875), a Spanish pavilion for the Philadelphia World Fair of 1876, a quay-side building (1876), a courtyard for the Diputacio de Barcelona (1876), amongst others.
Gaudi met with an accident on June 7, 1926 and breathed his last three days later.
The Google doodle meanwhile, features six of Gaudi’s architectural creations.
