LG Electronics India on Thursday announced the launch of a wide range of monitors for the IT segment with innovative features. Among the latest on offer include 3D Cinema Monitor, world’s slimmest LED monitors and IPS monitor.

The company executives also hinted that they plan to gradually focus on LED monitors away from LCD monitors as the purchasing pattern shows preference to the former.

Dr.Y.V.Verma, Chief Operating Officer of LG India, said “the company, which clocked 2010 with revenues of Rs.16,000 crore across various business segments, expects to close this year at about Rs.20,000 crore.”

The IT products business spanning monitors and optical drives accounted for revenues of Rs. 790 crore in 2010. This is likely to grow to about Rs.850 crore in 2011, he said.

“The company, which had exited the laptop business about two and a half years ago in India plans to re-enter this segment with the launch of new products later this year. “We believe that the market is ready for our laptops now,” Mr. Verma said.
