A new report says about 61 per cent of Facebook users have taken a break from the site for at least a few weeks for reasons that range from being busy to getting bombarded with “too much drama.”

A Pew survey released yesterday says that of American adults who use the Internet, 67 per cent are on Facebook, making it the dominant online social network in the country.

But Facebook users come and go. One-fifth of Internet users who do not use Facebook say they have used it at one point.

The reasons from people for a Facebook-break are varied, the top being too busy. Privacy and security concerns were low on the list. The study of 1,006 US adults was done in December. It has a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.
