Microsoft PC Hardware has announced that two of its premium products – LifeCam HD5000, and Wireless Mobile Mouse 1000 – will be available at discounted prices for customers in Kerala. While the LifeCam HD5000 now comes for Rs 2,205, the WMM 1000 is priced at Rs 759.
Mr Satish Parreddi, Senior Category Manager, Microsoft PC Hardware India, pointed out that Southern India, especially Kerala, has emerged as a key market for consumer electronics products since 2007. With a burgeoning middle class, Kerala leads many other Indian states in per capita income and also has one of the highest numbers of internet users in the country.
With a large non-resident population and high broadband penetration, Microsoft's LifeCam is the perfect way to stay in touch with loved ones no matter the distance.
An increase in demand for quality desktop peripherals has led Microsoft PC Hardware to expand its retail network in Kerala to 150 stores and constantly bring in innovative offers such as this one to help its channel partners boost sales, he added.
