The verified Twitter account of the news agency Press Trust of India was hacked for a brief period on Wednesday.
Three tweets – one at 7.22 pm, another at 7.24 pm and the third one at 7.28 pm – were posted on the Twitter handle of PTI -- @PTI_News -- on February 1.
Quoting its own re-tweet, the hacker tweeted: “join the best channel Telegram” with a url link and a Twitter handle @irancrack.
However, the three tweets were removed in 15 minutes. The profile picture of ‘Iran Crack’ remained for sometime.
By 7.43 pm, PTI’s profile picture was posted again.
