Online travel portal Cleartrip is looking to offer customised travel plans in the coming days. The new service is likely to be introduced over the next 12 to 18 months.

According to Amit Taneja, Chief Revenue Officer of Cleartrip, the services will include travel solutions tailor-made to suit a customer’s preferences; but will not include packaged tours.

“In the next 12 to 18 months, we might start offering customised travel plans,” he said. During the period, the company will also take a call on entering into new geographies in Asia and Africa.

Revenue

Cleartrip, currently operates in seven countries including India and mostly in West Asia. The Mumbai-headquartered company closed FY15 with revenues of around $800 million and clocked a growth of 39 per cent over last year. There are no immediate plans to raise funds or look forward to listing. It competes with the likes of MakeMyTrip in the online travel agent (OTA) space.

Target growth

According to Taneja, Cleartrip is targeting 45 per cent growth this fiscal banking primarily on growth in the online hotel and flight bookings.

In the coming days, revenues from transactions through mobile phones – through mobile websites (WAP site) or applications (apps) – are expected to grow and become the major contributor. Currently, such transactions account for 40 per cent of its revenues.

Average ticket size of transactions, made on mobile phones and otherwise (through desktops and laptops), are expected to be around ₹8,000.
