Vodafone Idea (Vi) on Tuesday signed an MoU with the West Bengal State Export Promotion Society (WBSEPS) to provide digital assessment tools, educational material, and training in the local language to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The initiative will help entities bridge the digital divide by assessing and evaluating digital needs and identifying opportunities for digitalisation in this sector, said Vi in a press release.
The initiative in West Bengal will be implemented through a structured approach, starting with digital assessment and awareness-building, where WBSEPS will gauge the digital maturity of MSMEs in the State. The telco’s business arm will also participate in webinars and events in the State to provide knowledge on new technologies.
“MSMEs today contribute approximately 30 per cent to India’s GDP and give the Indian economy a big boost. Our Ready For Next digital assessment will enable MSMEs to leverage technology to grow and take their products to a global audience,” said Rajeev Mehta, Executive Vice President & Segment Head, Vi Business. The company’s ‘Ready For Next’ program, launched in 2022, assists MSMEs in digital transformation. The program has seen participation from over 1.9 lakh MSMEs till February 2025.
