Vodafone India has slashed national roaming tariffs, effective May 1, following the reduction of ceiling rates by telecom regulator. The rates have been slashed for both local and STD calls.
On roaming for all outgoing local calls, a ceiling of 80 paise per minute has been fixed from the earlier Re 1 per minute and for Rs 1.15 per minute for STD calls from earlier Rs 1.50 per minute.
For incoming calls on roaming, the ceiling price has been slashed to 45 paise per minute from the earlier 75 paise per minute.
The prices of text messages have also been slashed by 7 per cent. Local SMS would be charged at 25 paise compared to Re 1 earlier, national SMS at 38 paise from Rs 1.50 earlier, it added.
