Vodafone India has appointed Nick Gliddon as Director for Vodafone Business services.
Gliddon is currently the Enterprise Business Unit Director for Vodafone Egypt. The appointment comes after Naveen Chopra was elevated to Chief Operating Officer of Vodafone India.
Gliddon will take charge from May 1. He joins Vodafone India ate a challenging time for telecom operators. With spectrum auction bids crossing ₹1 lakh crore, players like Vodafone will be under pressure to get high revenue customers. This is where enterprise business becomes critical. Most telecom companies are trying to bump up their revenues through offerings for cloud services, data centres, security solutions over basic fixed line infrastructure. Under Chopra's watch, Vodafone's enterprise business had grown significantly to account for more than 10 per cent of its India revenues.
Prior to joining Vodafone Egypt in October 2012, he was Head of Northern Europe for Vodafone Global Enterprise. Vodafone Global Enterprise is the business unit accountable for the end to end management of Vodafone’s largest corporate customers world-wide.
He joined Vodafone in March 2008 from Siemens IT Solutions and Services, the systems integration and software practice of Siemens AG. Prior to Siemens, Gliddon held senior roles at Hutchison Whampoa and Cable & Wireless Plc.
