WhatsApp for Android has introduced a new feature — marking conversations as unread.
Long pressing on a chat opens up a pop-up menu that now includes 'Mark as unread'. The feature, just like in e-mails, helps users by marking the chat with a green dot on the right. To remove the mark, users will have to long-press the chat again. Though the menu may still say 'Mark as unread', clicking it removes the green dot.
The latest version also allows setting up of custom notifications — tones, vibration, pop-up notifications, light, ringtones, etc, — for each contact.
The app also has the option of reducing the data used during a WhatsApp call.
The new version (2.12.194) is now available at the WhatsApp Android download site: http://www.whatsapp.com/android/
