IT services major Wipro has launched an employee perception survey for all its employees, a senior official said.

“We started this survey on Friday. It will impact all our employees," Mr Rajan Kohli, Chief Marketing Officer, IT Business, told Business Line . As of the quarter ended September 30, Wipro had 131,730 employees on its rolls.

Wipro has been making several efforts to improve employee satisfaction in the recent past. While speaking to Business Line after announcing the results for the quarter ended September 30, Mr T.K. Kurien, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer, IT Business said that in order to improve employee satisfaction, incentives for managers had been linked to attrition, which means that managers actually lose money if too many people under them quit.

Attrition has been a sore point for Indian IT Services companies and for the second quarter, TCS said that attrition in the IT Services business was 12.51 per cent, while Infosys reported in the same quarter that its attrition for the last twelve months was 15.6 per cent. Wipro's attrition in the same period was 18.5 per cent.

Mr Kohli said that in order to make employees happier, Wipro is becoming more open. “We have integrated Twitter with our systems. We will also integrate Facebook with some mild restrictions within a couple of months.”

Right now, Wipro employees don't have access to Facebook, but once integrated with its intranet, this will be possible.

Wipro is also working on BYOD (bring your own device) and recently, a lot of the top executives could use devices other than Blackberry phones. Soon, all employees at Wipro will be able to get corporate data access on the device of their choice, be it iPads, Windows Phones, or iPhones. “We want to be a trendier place that appeals to a younger audience,” said Mr Kohli.
