ManageEngine, the IT management arm of software company Zoho Corporation, launched Browser Security Plus to tackle browser-based cyberattacks here on Tuesday.

The browser management solution is targeted at large and small enterprises handling sensitive data such as healthcare, education and finance. The product costs $12 per year per device. There is also a free edition available for start-ups and small businesses to manage up to 25 computers. Speaking to BusinessLine at the launch, Mathivanan Venkatachalam, Vice-President, ManageEngine, said, “Adoption of cybersecurity has increased in recent times due to increasing incidents of cyberattacks, which gives us opportunity to grow.”

Rising cyberattacks

According to recent reports, browser-based attack account for 30 per cent of overall cybersecurity attack. This is in part driven by rising cloud adoption by small and large businesses and also slow shift towards Web OS. Though there are numerous cybersecurity products available in the market, solutions for browser security are still nascent and evolving.

The product helps IT teams configure browser settings to address specific requirements such as threat defence and data leakage protection. They can also manage add-ons and plug-ins based on their reliability. The product can also be used for monitoring cybersecurity standards Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) and standards predefined by the Centre for Internet Security.

Venkatachalam said, “We are also working on a separate product for vulnerability assessment since we are focusing on endpoint security.” Endpoint security is third largest revenue generating category under ManageEngine, a major revenue generator for Zoho Corp.

Other categories include active direction management, IT services management, analytics, operation management and security.
