Phishing complaints disrupted Zoho’s services for nearly an hour on Tuesday morning with thousands of global consumers unable to access their emails or run their businesses.

Tierra.net, Zoho’s domain name registrar blacklisted Zoho’s domain.

In Zoho’s case, the registrar received three phishing complaints over the last two months, two of which were addressed immediately and one was under investigation. To put these numbers in context, just one security service company blocked 51 million phishing attempts in 2017, said Sridhar Vembu, CEO, Zoho Corp. Over 35 million users around the world rely on Zoho every day to run their businesses.

“Majority of our user base that was logged into Zoho, was not impacted. and those who were about to login saw error messages. I was personally active throughout yesterday and helped customers through social media. We have already moved our domain registrar to Cloudflare and we are working to make sure this situation does not happen again,” he said.
