Tea worth about ₹3.13 crore remained unsold at Sale No: 33 of the auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association as there were no takers for 23 per cent of 4.65 lakh kg on offer.

Four grades of CTC tea from Homedale Estate, auctioned by Global Tea Brokers, were the only ones from bought-leaf factories to enter the high-price bracket of ₹200 a kg.

Of them, Homedale Estate Pekoe Dust topped not only the Dust tea auction but the entire CTC market when Shreeji Traders bought it for ₹231 a kg. Homedale Estate’s Red Dust followed at ₹219.

In the Leaf Tea auction, Homedale Estate’s two grades got ₹219 and ₹215.

In the orthodox market, Kodanad topped at ₹263 a kg followed by Chamraj at ₹242. Our Correspondent
