Crude oil futures prices fell further by 0.22 per cent to Rs 6,388 per barrel today, as participants indulged in reducing their positions, tracking a weak trend in the Asian region.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in October fell Rs 14 or 0.22 per cent to Rs 6,388 per barrel in 1,647 lots. In a likewise manner, oil for November contract moved down by Rs 12 or 0.19 per cent to Rs 6,408 per barrel in 100 lots.
Analysts said the fall in crude oil futures was attributed to a weak trend in the Asian trade after the United States and Russia agreed a draft UN Security Council resolution on destroying Syria’s chemical arms.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for November delivery eased 32 cents to $102.791 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in mid-morning trade today.
