Following continuous uptrend in prices of key ingredients in the last few days, poultry-feed products are set to turn dearer in the coming weeks.
Aditya Mishra, a commodity expert, told Business Line that poultry-feed prices stayed unchanged this week, despite an uptrend in prices of a few of its key ingredients. Prices may increase by ₹300-500 a tonne, he added.
In the physical market, soyameal moved up by ₹200 and sold at ₹40,200 a tonne, while bajra eased by ₹300 and sold at ₹13,400 a quintal. Di-calcium phosphate went up by 10 paise and was at ₹36.70 a kg while maize improved by ₹10 and sold at ₹1,540 a quintal. DRB improved by ₹200 and sold for ₹9,000, rice bran oil ruled flat at ₹55 a kg, MBM was at ₹44 while mustard de-oiled cake was at ₹15,600 a tonne.
Pre-lay mash sold at ₹1,100; Layer concentrate 25 per cent was at ₹1,520 while Layer concentrate 35 per cent was at ₹1,200. Broiler concentrate was quoted at ₹2,115 for a 50-kg bag.
Broiler improved by ₹6 and was at ₹52/kg; egg went up by 2 paise to ₹2.35, while chick went for ₹10, ₹2 up. Traders expect that poultry products to improve further in the coming days.
