A stakeholder awareness and education seminar on agribusiness and commodity markets to discuss scientific management of price risks in the volatile agricultural markets will be held at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday at Hotel Angel, Tirupur.

The event is organised by Business Line jointly with the Forward Markets Commission, the commodity futures market regulator, and the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the country’s largest futures bourse for agricultural commodities, as part of an ongoing series to reach out to stakeholders.

The seminar seeks to bring together various market participants including producers, processors, traders, importers, exporters, trade intermediaries and others in order to create awareness about use of futures trading as a tool for price discovery and price risk management.

P. Nataraj, Managing Director, KPR Mills Ltd, will inaugurate the seminar. G. Chandrashekhar of Business Line will speak on ‘Commodities as Critical Driver Of India's Economic Growth’ and Sreekanth Chettiyar, NCDEX, will speak on ‘Commodity Futures Trading For Price Discovery and Price Risk Management.’

Presentations will be followed by an open house discussion.

Due to limited number of seats, prior registration is necessary. Please contact M. R. Ganesh Krishnan on 98942 90894.
