The easy trend in spot pepper continued on Tuesday following slow down by buyers, who are expecting the release of containers awaiting DRI clearance at various ports/ICDs in the country. Imported pepper of different low bulk density was reportedly being sold at ₹400- ₹415 a kg in the primary markets. 18 tonnes of mixed pepper from the plains and high ranges were traded today at ₹420-₹430 a kg. Spot prices decreased by ₹100 a quintal to close at ₹42,100 (ungarbled) and ₹44,100 (garbled) a quintal.
