Silver prices fell 0.17 per cent to Rs 36,253 per kg at the futures trade today amid profit-booking by speculators and due to a weak global trend.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March declined by Rs 61 or 0.17 per cent to Rs 36,253 per kg in a business turnover of 1,278 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May traded lower by Rs 57 or 0.16 per cent to Rs 36,610 per kg in 155 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels, a weak global trend mainly led to the decline in silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver fell 0.06 per cent to $16.26 an ounce in Singapore.
