Tirupur will host a commodity education seminar today to create awareness among stakeholders – producers, processors, traders, importers, exporters and related others – in the agricultural commodity value chain. By their very nature, commodity markets are volatile and subject to wide price fluctuations. It is necessary for each stakeholder to scientifically manage the price risks inherent in the marketplace.

The event is part of an ongoing series of seminars organised by Business Line, jointly with the regulator for commodity futures markets, Forward Markets Commission under the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs and the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange to reach out to stakeholders specifically in the agricultural value chain.

Expert presentations include “Commodities as critical driver of India’s economic growth” by G. Chandrashekhar, The Hindu Business Line and “Commodity futures trading and price risk management” by Shreekanth Chettiyar, NCDEX.

P. Nataraj, Managing Director, KPR Mills Ltd, will be the chief guest. R. Sivaram, Executive Director, Royal Classic Group, and R. Anusha, CEO, Park Group of Institutions will be the guests of honour.

The event starts at 4.30 p.m. at Hotel Angel, Avinashi Main Road, Tirupur.

For registration, call M. R. Ganesh Krishnan on 98942 90894.
